Hello Bellissi moto,
I installed the Matris F15K kit in my 2024 MG V7 STONE model ten.
Some helpful comments for you;
- The lower damper rod has the compression bushing machined-in, and the one on the emulsion fork is also not detachable as it is also machines-into the damper rod. No transfer of that part is needed.
- There is only ONE plastic fork spring washer. The upper "washer" is machined into the top aluminum fork valve assemebly. Don't look for the second one.
- The allen bolts are TIGHT holding the stock dampers to the lower fork leg. Be prepared to get a long extension allen to reach the bolt and a cheater bar to loosen it. Better, take the forks to a garage and have them impact wrench them out. I warned you!
- I cut thin strips of 8.5" x11" paper 130 mm long with a bent tab at the top to insert and set the oil level. When I see just the bottom of the strip "clear" with oil...done.
- The fork caps legends are way too light etched to actually see except at initial install to put the rebound in the left leg and the compression in the right. No harm no foul as it doesn't matter once you do that but they ARE NOT legible like it shows elsewhere.
My spec weight is 160 pounds fully geared up. I used the number 6.5 spring and 5 weight oil 130 mm from the top of the fork tubes. Performance has been excellent over 500+ miles so far. They hit the settings real close. I use 10 clicks of rebound and compression damping , not the 15, because my roads are rougher than smooth.
I am very pleased with this kit. It removed all the weird shudder from the front end and with the Ohlin's on the back I'm no longer air-born over frost heave pumps except the whoppers. The action is silky smooth straight away, where the stock was full of stiction but that was the stanction tune and fork bushings breaking-in. But this kit is real nice for the price. The damping is real obvious working with the kit to expel the air. Yep, it really actually has controlled damping!
One last note, be honest how you REALLY ride the bike most of the time. The italians are real serious when you say "race" suspension. It will be stiff and hammer you on on all but the smoothest (race track) roads! I told the COMMUTER grade suspension and they got it right. I want smoother on rougher roads. That's what I got.
