The VAS Shield Mechanism uses a variable axis with a moving pivot point so the shield opens and closes smoothly even from a lower mount position; a dual-function lever releases both the side cover and shield pin for quick, simple removal, and the visible mechanism makes shield changes easy. A larger, de-mist-capable shield latch and VAS latch capture the shield securely to help prevent unexpected opening. VAS Max-V (BV) Shield provides wide, all-season visibility and a clear Pinlock? insert is included as standard for anti-fog performance.
Safety and impact performance are enhanced by improved Glance-Off Ability: a smaller, lower VAS pivot cover and a smooth shell along the SNell test line in the temple area help the helmet glance off objects during impact. The PB-SNC? Shell, created from super fiber and synthetic fibers, balances tensile strength and flexibility for a strong shell with less weight.
Ventilation and water sealing are handled by Diffuser Type 12 air intakes (three positions) and IC Duct5 airflow with a three-position switch that’s easier to open and limits water intrusion, reducing road noise and improving comfort. A fully removable, odor-resistant interior liner maintains a neutral pH next to the skin; soft-frame materials, removable temple padding and a replaceable crown pad allow a customized, comfortable fit.
