The VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to help prevent unexpected opening; the larger latch also provides an intuitive de-mist function and seamless operation even with gloves. VAS Max-V (BV) Shield is standard and includes a clear Pinlock? insert for superior all-season visibility.
Impact engineering and aerodynamics focus on safety and glance-off ability: smaller and lower VAS pivot covers and a smooth shell along the SNell test line increase the helmet's ability to glance off objects. PB-SNC? Shell and PB-SNC2 Shell construction use super fiber and synthetic reinforcing fibers (with in-house Z Resin in PB-SNC2) to deliver tensile strength, glancing-off properties and reduced weight. Internal Structural Net and Peripheral Belt further strengthen the shell with minimal weight increase.
Comfort and airflow are optimized with Internal Air Channel design and IC Duct5: enhanced air extraction pulls hot/moist air from the eye port through ducted channels behind the cheek pads to side cowl vents to reduce fogging. Diffuser Type 12 and multi-position air intake vents improve sealing to reduce road noise and water intrusion. Vents are lightly mounted to remain frangible in an impact to avoid snagging. The odor-resistant, fully removable interior comfort liner maintains neutral pH, includes removable temple padding and a replaceable crown pad for a customized fit.
