VAS Shield Mechanism, being able to see the shield mechanism allows for easier shield change. A dual-function lever releases both the side cover and shield pin for quick and simple shield removal. The VAS mechanism with a variable axis incorporates a moving pivot point; by combining the pin trajectory (based on an imaginary axis*) with the two trajectories of the double pivot point slot, the shield opens and closes smoothly even with a much lower shield mount position. Shield Latch, the VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to help prevent unexpected opening; in addition to the de-mist function, the larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation. VAS Max-V (BV) Shield is standard to provide visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding; a clear Pinlock? insert is included to combat fogging.
Glance-Off Ability is enhanced by a smaller and lower VAS pivot cover and a smooth shell along the Snell test line in the temple area to increase the helmet's ability to glance off objects during an impact. PB-SNC? Shell, created from super fiber and synthetic fibers, provides high tensile strength and flexibility—stronger with less weight. Diffuser Type 12 and IC Duct5 work together to manage airflow: air intake vents have three positions and are designed to improve sealing, decrease road noise and reduce water intrusion. IC Duct5 provides targeted airflow; switches feature three positions, are easier to open, and limit water intrusion when fully closed.
Odor-Resistant Liner, a fully removable interior comfort liner helps maintain a neutral pH level close to the skin. Soft frame material increases comfort and features removable temple padding and a removable/replaceable crown pad for a customized fit. This helmet blends advanced shielding, ventilation and lightweight shell construction for confident performance on long rides and spirited days on the road.
