Wow, the bar does change the riding experience!!! At least for me it did.
Just for reference, I am 5’6.5” and 190 lbs (athletic body type). No abnormal extremity lengths. LOL
With the Ducati rearward bars, I had to lean slightly forward as my arms were fully extended and I noticed I would clamp hard on the bar/grips. I would have crampy hands after 45 mins or so. After installing the Aella bar, I rode 5:30 hours (250 mi) and not once did I feel crampy hands!! As I am no longer slightly leaning forward, I no longer grip the bar to support myself. My grip is now light as just the weight of my hands are resting on the new bar/grips.
With the new Aella bar, I am sitting more upright, which is more comfortable, but maybe not as “cool looking” like leaning forward? Lol
The new bar is comfortable!!!
I also noticed I was taking corners a lot faster and more assertively. Now leaning slightly forward for corners, my arms are bent and I am able to push the bars without being fully extended!!
Making u-turns is AWESOME!! Easy-peasy now!! No more leaning forward and losing your body mass from your feet. Before I would have to lean forward, shifting my body weight to the forward part of the seat and I felt light on my feet making me feel really unsure about u-turns. Now I am able to just sit upright, my body mass transferred to my feet feeling sure footed.
Overall, I love this bar!!! The bike feels much easier to wheel. I am totally glad I got this bar!!!
I just wish I would have gotten it sooner!!!
Oh and the Aella bar is just gorgeous!!!! Its a work of art!!
I did some comparison measurements of the stock bar, the rearward bar, and the Aella bar.
Stock bar is 33.875" wide.
Rearward bar is 34" wide.
Aella bar is 32" wide.
The Aella bar is 2" closer to the rider than the rearward bars.
The rearward bar is 1.5" closer than stock.
The Aella bar is 3.5" closer than the stock bar.
I hope this helps you pull the trigger on the bar...you won't regret it!!!
