Remember when Loris Capirossi won the MotoGP World Championship
back in 2006? Nope, me either. Probably because he lost valuable
points in the championship after being taken out in the Catalunya GP by
his team-mate Sete Gibernau due to a lack of lever guards!
Lever guards became mandatory since the 2012 MotoGP season, as well
as various other championships such as World Superbike, MotoAmerica,
etc., and can most likely be traced back to this incident. Hauling down
the straight at triple digit speeds, Sete Gibernau made contact with
Loris Capirossi, squeezing his brake lever to the point of lockup, which
sent Sete over the bars and in the hospital.
The GT.Shield2 Lever Guards are the Best evolution so far for Gilles
GT.Shield. The well-known and popular two-part structure of thierr lever
protector has
remained. In addition, the arm made of very resistant plastic-glass
fiber mix, the clamping element for the steering tube and the black
hard-anodized aluminum bracket have been fundamentally revised.
The
POM arm now appears in the new "Round Design" and impresses not only
with its design but also with increased stability. Thanks to the new
construction, the holder can now be adjusted or rotated, which ensures
an individually selectable position and thus improves comfort. The new
clamping element provides even more support in the steering tube.
Don't be like Sete. Protect yourself and your investment with a set of Giles Tooling GT.Shield2 Lever Guards today!
