Overview
The sprocket cover in carbon for the BMW S 1000 RR from 2015 replaces the original component using the original fastening points. The sprocket cover is suitable for models with ABS. The focus is on weight savings (usually savings of around 70% compared to the original component) and greater rigidity. The carbon part was made entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, in the next step, as is usual with us, covered with a clear plastic coating to protect it against environmental influences. This plastic coating vastly exceeds the usual clear varnish coating in terms of its protective effect, scratch resistance and durability. But the coating not only scores points from a technical point of view, it also clearly underlines the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
